The Schubertiade Broadcasts on Austrian Radio

When the 2025 Schubertiade starts, you can be part of the audience from home. The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) will be recording some concerts at the opening Schubertiade, which will then be broadcast on the Ö1 programme.

The Full schedule is here.

The broadcasts open with a look back at 50 years of Schubertiade history, from its start as a one-week festival created by Gerd Nachbauer from an idea from baritone Hermann Prey, to its celebrations in 2025, its semi centennial year.

3 May, 3:05 CEST (GMT+2) is The Schubertiade in Voralrberg: Five Decades in the Home for Shubertians. In 1976, a small festival started in the state of Vorarlberg, Austria, as a series of song recitals and chamber music concerts. Fifty years later, the Schubertiade festival has grown and became the world-famous centre for all things Schubert. ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Company) has been recording Schubertiade concerts from the very beginning, and this overview program gives an idea of the history of this famous festival.

Further broadcasts bring recordings made through the festival:
