Founded in the summer of 1946, the festival has become one of the most important chamber music celebrations in Germany. Each summer, top musicians from around the world meet with eager audience, presenting a broad range of ancient and modern chamber music in the city of Hitzacker. Alongside concert recitals, Audience Academy, a Festival Academy for young musicians, and a cultural sustainability forum are also held throughout the event, bearing its motto: “Tradition and Today – A Step Ahead since 1946”.
