I knew most of them except two that I guessed correctly, choosing the operas that I have heard of but have never seen. There are probably more dysfunctional families in Opera those I remember can be: Donizetti’s Lucia, Strauss’ Salome and Herodías from Massenet. We could include The Bartered wife (Smetana), because the young woman had to marry a man she didn’t love, but it has a happy end.
