Hailed as “One of Europe’s most enjoyable festivals” by the BBC Music Magazine, the Vinterfest is a much celebrated chamber music event during the snowy winter in the heart of Sweden. Artistic Director Víkingur Ólafsson invites great chamber musicians from around the world for stunning performances that let audience forget their winter chill. To embrace the locality and intimacy feeling, a wide selections of small-scale concert venues are chosen each year, including the Älvdalens church, MOT centres, libraries and art galleries. French pianist Julien Quentin, established Swedish soprano Kerstin Avemo and the Apollon Musagete Quartett have performed on stage in previous editions.
