First launched in 2009 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of American-Jewish composer, the Ernest Bloch Music Competition is an addition to the Israeli Music Competition, which was founded in 2008. Contestants will play a prescribed classical composition, a piece of their own choice, as well as an Israeli piece for the Israeli Music Competition and a piece by Bloch for the Ernest Bloch Competition. Jury comprises established musicians, artistic directors and professors from around the world. The contest welcomes participants of all ages in groups or as solo musicians. First prize winner will have a recital in one of London’s top performance venues.
