Being the world’s biggest string quartet festival, the biennale focuses on discovery, embracing tradition and experimentation. During the eight-day voyage, string quartets, composers and speakers from all over the world celebrate and highlight all different aspects of the string quartet genre, both the traditional canon and new, unexplored territories. Previous participating ensembles include Emerson String Quartet, Quartetto di Cremona, Signum Quartett, Hagen Quartett and many more.
