Founded in 1986 by pianist Justus Frantz, the event is regarded as one of Germany’s most prominent international cultural events. Located in Northern Germany, concerts mainly take place at magnificent castles and mansions, as well as the most beautiful churches in Schleswig-Holstein. Each year the Festival presents a variety of programmes and themes that change yearly focusing on the music and culture of a different country. Atop workshops and the children’s music festival, the event is also famous for its family-friendly concert atmosphere allowing guests to enjoy picnic lunch amidst performances.
