Founded by Italian pianist Rina Sala Gallo in 1947, the biennial competition has become one of the most prestigious cultural events in the Monza & Brianza area, northwestern Italy. The jury includes illustrious names of the international music scene, comprising established performers, conductors, professors and artistic-musical operators. In addition to cash prizes, successful contestants will also be invited to perform at concerts organized by Musical institutions such as Gioventù Musicale d’Italia, Università Popolare di Monza and others. Past winners include Angela Hewitt, Daniel Rivera, Mihkel Poll, Giampaolo Stuani and Ilya Poletaev.
