Initiated in 1997 by bass-baritone opera singer Ludwig Baumann, the festival is held inside a horse-racing dome with outstanding acoustics in Bavaria. Every year, newly composed operas together with the classics by Mozart, Puccini, or Verdi are staged. Alongside performances, introductory workshops and arts exhibitions are also organized.
