New research published in the journal Brain and Cognitio suggests that people who play an instrument have faster reaction times.

Researchers from the University of Montreal compared the reaction times of 16 musicians (who had started playing between ages three and ten, and had at least seven years of training) and 19 non-musicians. The candidates, who were roughly half undergraduates and half graduates, were asked to click a mouse button when they sensed a vibration, noise or both. Full story.
