Founded in 2002 out of the concept from Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov and Valery Gergiev, the festival is a reputable musical assembly of some of the world’s elite musicians during the Russian Orthodox Easter. Located in Moscow, the event is a showcase of symphonic, choral, chamber and recital programmes. Aiming to satisfy both educational and charitable missions, the festival has contributed to benefit socially disadvantaged people, students and teachers. Under maestro Gergiev’s artistic direction, Moscow Easter Festival is a guarantee of quality music.
