More music needed in classrooms after 20-year decline

Albert Einstein might have said imagination is more powerful than knowledge, but if the school curriculum is anything to go by, knowledge takes precedence when it comes to Australian teaching.

Neuro-musical educator Anita Collins believes the past 20 years has seen a major decline in the amount of art and music taught at schools, despite it being an integral part of brain development.

“One thing the arts does really well is to get you thinking across lines, to think across boundaries.” Full story.
