First held in 1995, the event is a reputable music gala in local cultural scene. Located at the popular resort destination in the Japanese island of Kyushu, the festival takes place every year at the Miyazaki Prefectural Arts Centre. Prominent musicians and professors are invited as participants in various concerts, including Charles Dutoit who served as artistic director in 2006. Besides recitals, the festival also features a masterclass series called “Music Academy in Miyazaki” which is held by renowned artists. Such combination of entertainment and education has successfully attracted thousands of audiences from around the world.
