As a homage paid to the ensemble Trio de Trieste since its first edition in 1996, the competition aims at supporting chamber musical groups that preserves its spirit. Stable formation, punctilious reading of scores, fusion between instruments and phrasing precision are amongst the basic principles which the juries look for in candidates. To aid candidates’ performing careers, the competition offers a CD recording opportunity and a concert tour around Italy besides monetary prizes to the winning groups. Previous winners include the Debussy Trio (1997), the Ars Trio (2001), the Trio Mondrian (2007) and more.
