International BACH | LISZT Organ Competition is based on the well-known International Organ Competition of Erfurt Domberg-Prediger. Since 2008, it is resumed and expanded with the cooperation of the cities of Erfurt, Weimar and Merseburg. Since then, the contest has taken on worldwide significance. It is organized triennially with a focus on organ repertoires to pay homage to both luminaries of Thuringia’s musical history: J.S. Bach and Franz Liszt. International organists under 34 years of age can participate and perform the assigned repertoire including works of J.S. Bach and Liszt. The jury comprises internationally renowned organists including Dame Gillian Weir and Silvius von Kessel.

- International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments In celebration of the anniversary of Poland’s independence, the Fryderyk Chopin Institute launched the first international competition in 2018.
- The Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition First established in 2013, the competition aims to promote highly gifted young musicians.
