Founded in 1989 in Southern Tuscany, the annual chamber music festival is organized in memory of Anglo-Irish biographer and writer Iris Origo and her husband Antonio Origo, who dedicated their lives to the development and appreciation of the Val d’Orcia. Based at Villa La Foce and the nearby medieval castle, Castelluccio, the festival aims to spread the appreciation of music and art through concerts, meetings, and artistic events held in the many beautiful neighbouring towns including Pienza, Radicofani, Cetona, Città della Pieve and San Quirico d’Orcia. World renowned artists like Vladimir Ashkenazy, Steven Isserlis, Stile Antico, L’Arpeggiata have previously performed at the event.
