First established in 1966, the festival has transformed to one of the most important music festivals in France. A balance between famous and rediscovered repertoire is its priority, with a focus on sacred music. Every summer, concerts, masterclasses, and various cultural workshops are organised in major heritage sites including La Chaise-Dieu, the soul and flagship of the festival. Mikhail Rudy, Percussions Claviers de Lyon, Alexandre Bloch, and many more orchestras and ensembles have appeared on stage in previous editions.
