Founded in 1982, the event is a month-long annual summer festival dedicated to baroque opera in Beaune, France. Famous for its revival of many baroque operas and performances of Mozart on original instruments, the festival also features a series of performances of oratorios and sacred music together with master classes and vocal workshops under the Académie de Chant baroque. Concerts mainly take place at the famous 15th-century Hospices de Beaune as well as the Basilique Notre-Dame.
