Established in 1951 on the 125th anniversary of Carl Maria von Weber’s death, the event is heralded as the most traditional and romantic summer music festival of opera, operetta and musicals in Germany. Concerts are held in the idyllic open-air theatre in the castle garden seated on the shores of the Great Eutin Lake. Renowned musicians such as Hanna Schwarz, Julie Kaufmann, Gladys Kuchta, Kurt Moll, Nicolai Gedda, Hermann Prey, Franz Grundheber, René Kollo and Zoran Todorovich have previously performed on the Eutiner stage.
