Founded in 1949, the event is one of the largest classical music gala in Croatia. Whilst some of the concerts take place in the city’s open-air venues, the event is famous for its performances at historical monuments in the medieval Croatian town. The festival features theatre and classical music, dance and contemporary creation, exhibitions and literature events. Atop world class concerts, the Orlando Award presented by Croatian National Radio and Television for the best music and drama programme of the year is also a festival highlight.
