Established in 1987, the festival is one of the most important cultural events in Spain. Taking place every summer at the historical venue of Castillo de Peralada, situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the Alt Empordà region, in northern Catalonia, the event showcases recitals by famous singers, symphony-choir concerts, operas, musical theatre, dance, jazz, pop, chamber music concerts and family-orientated performances. With the aim of enriching the cultural variety in Spain, the festival actively supports local Spanish composers and artists whilst inviting prestigious international musicians to take part.
