Established in 1969, the event is regarded as one of the most important Austrian music festivals. Located in the southernmost province of Austria, the festival is famous for its romantic setting on Lake Ossiach. Performances take place in various historical architecture including the eleventh-century Ossiach Abbey, featuring some of the best musicians of our time, such as John Eliot Gardiner, Valery Gergiev, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Sir Roger Norrington and more.
