Initiated in the 1920s by George Bell, the Dean of Canterbury Cathedral, the festival is now Kent’s largest international festival of arts and culture, hosting over 200 events during the fortnight including a vast variety of music, theatre and dance, science, exhibitions, walks and talks. The event takes place in the historic cathedral city of Canterbury, and surrounding towns and villages, in the South East England.
