Date: June 3 to 10, 2018
Dedicated to Carl Flesch, one of the greatest violin teachers in the history, the first competition was launched in 1945, a year after his death. It has since gained worldwide recognition and become one of the most important contests of its kind. Participants have to perform various technically demanding violin repertoires, including selected contemporary Hungarian works and compositions by Bach, Paganini and Mozart. Chaired by Hungarian violinist Eszter Perényi, the jury panel comprises established violinists from all over Europe.
