Founded in 1987 by violinist Ida Kavafian and John Giovando, the festival aims at fostering public interest and appreciation of the performing arts. It began as a small series of chamber music concerts in the Vail Valley, one of the world’s finest resort attractions at the Colorado Rocky Mountains, it is now a summer heaven for established orchestras, world-class musicians, and the brightest new ensembles. To promote public arts education, extensive community outreach activities are also available.
