Established in 1990, the festival has succeeded in attracting music lovers around the globe to Annandale-on-Hudson of New York every summer. Aiming to promote new ways of understanding and presenting the history of music to a contemporary audience, the event is themed on a different composer in history each year. All programmes are designed to explore all aspects of the musical culture surrounding the biography, achievement, time and place of the composer’s life. The festival offers a diverse coverage of genres which links music to the worlds of literature, painting, theater, philosophy, and politics- and certainly endows guests an all-rounded understanding of the selected composer.
