Founded in 1979 by violinist and conductor Bijan Khadem-Missagh, the festival has been held in The Waldviertel in Lower Austria. Seated in the south by the Danube River, the event features a unique combination of concerts, master classes, youth programmes and courses for children and parents. Beyond its great contribution in nurturing musical talents in the younger generation, the festival has also gained an international reputation with its exceptional quality of chamber music performance. One of the highlights of the event is certainly the mystical landscapes of the Waldviertel and the 25 venues featuring architectural treasures of its abbeys, palaces and fortresses that endows the occasion with a unique flair.
