Established in 2009, the competition aims to symbolize a respectful and inspiring standard of pianism. Since its inception, it has served as an international platform for young and enthusiastic pianists. Participants will perform a series of set solo pieces by Carl Nielsen and piano concerto by Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven and other masters. Presided by Anne Øland, the jury panel comprising experienced pianists will award the top three prizes in addition to the Carl Nielsen prize to the best contestants. Winners will be invited to perform in a concert with Aarhus Symfoniorkester in the concert hall Musikhuset Aarhus.
